The advantage of living close to family is getting free furniture when you move across the country after selling all your belongings. I dug out this cute little dining table from my parents' attic. What was supposed to be a quick coat of paint turned out to be a really annoying process. Since I know very little about painting/refinishing furniture, I'm pretty sure I have my own self to blame for making the whole ordeal way more complicated than it needed to be. The finished product isn't even the best, but for free, I'll take it.

well - it looks fabulous. I had that same experience when repainting my cabinets. I think I did them 3 times. It was awful. Why can't we just be rich?
